With a deep understanding of the challenges facing Florida’s families, businesses, and communities, Yoni is running for the Florida State House to bring a fresh, solutions-oriented approach to state government.
As a first-generation American, Yoni was raised by two Israeli immigrant business owners who built their own business from the ground up. Growing up in an entrepreneurial household, Yoni saw firsthand the dedication, resilience, and sacrifices required to make a small business succeed. From a young age, he worked side by side with his parents, learning the value of hard work, customer service, and community. This early exposure to the challenges of entrepreneurship shaped his strong work ethic and instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility to honor the sacrifices his parents made to build a better life for their family.
Yoni’s academic journey further shaped his dedication to excellence. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida, where he developed a strong foundation in leadership and critical thinking. He then went on to earn his law degree from The George Washington University Law School, where he continued to excel academically and professionally, laying the groundwork for a successful legal career.
After law school, Yoni began his career at a prestigious large law firm in New York City, where he gained invaluable experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and complex negotiations. His time at the firm equipped him with the skills to navigate high-stakes legal issues and work with top-tier clients in various sectors. Yoni then transitioned to the tech industry, serving as in-house counsel for a leading technology company. There, he played a pivotal role in managing complex legal challenges and driving strategic initiatives that supported business growth. His experience at the tech company led to a position at a Fortune 500 corporation, where he continued to build expertise in business strategy, risk management, and corporate governance.
Yoni then went on to manage his own law firm, First Gen Law, PLC, specialising in corporate transactions for startups, technology, and media companies. There, Yoni employed several attorneys and legal professionals while managing dozens of both US and international clientele. As an entrepreneur and business owner, Yoni understands the challenges many small business owners face and will strive to support legislation to create an even more favourable landscape to attract new businesses and employers to Florida.
While building a successful career in the private sector, Yoni felt a strong call to serve and decided to transition into the U.S. Army Reserve. As a Captain and Judge Advocate General (JAG), he uses his legal expertise to support soldiers and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of military law and deployment. For Yoni, the decision to serve those who defend our nation has been a deeply rewarding and honorable chapter in his career.
